The Rural Initiatives and Planning Advisory Committee met this 12th day of July 2022.
The meeting was held in a hybrid in-person/electronic format with Committee Members
and staff participating as indicated below.

6. BRIEFINGS
6.1 Funding Challenge from the Town of Aylmer Re: Aylmer — Malahide
Museum and Archives — Manager of Administrative Services/Deputy
Clerk
The Legislative Services Coordinator presented the report detailing the
correspondence received by County Council challenging the County of Elgin
to provide a donation to the Aylmer-Malahide Museum and Archives
(AMMA) capital campaign. County Council referred this funding request to
the Rural Initiatives and Planning Advisory Committee (RIPA) for
consideration under the Community Grant Program.
Moved by: Councillor Martyn
Seconded by: Warden French
WHEREAS at its meeting on July 12, 2022, the Rural Initiatives and
Planning Advisory Committee considered the fundraising challenge for the
Aylmer-Malahide Museum and Archives capital campaign, as suggested by
the Town of Aylmer; and
WHEREAS this request for funding falls outside or does not meet the criteria
of the established Community Grant Program, administered by the Rural
Initiatives and Planning Advisory Committee;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Rural Initiatives and Planning
Advisory Committee recommend that Elgin County Council provide a
donation in support of the fundraising challenge for the Aylmer-Malahide
Museum and Archives capital campaign in the amount of $10,000.
