Adjournment Elgin/Central Elgin Joint Accessibility Advisory Committee Minutes July 9, 2024, 3:30 p.m. Council Chambers 450 Sunset Drive St. Thomas ON Members Present: Todd Noble, Elgin County Councillor Tom Marks, Chair Jenn Salverda Members Absent: Dave Baughman, Municipality of Central Elgin Councillor Staff Present: Amy Thomson, Director of Human Resources Katherine Thompson, Manager of Administrative Services/Deputy Clerk Emily Waldick, Manager of Human Resources Jenna Fentie, Legislative Services Coordinator 1. Call to Order The meeting was called to order at 3.35 p.m. with Tom Marks in the Chair. 2. Approval of Agenda Moved by: Councillor Noble Seconded by: Jenn Salverda RESOLVED THAT the agenda for the July 9, 2024 meeting of the Joint Accessibility Advisory Committee be approved as presented. Motion Carried. 3. Adoption of Minutes Moved by: Jenn Salverda Seconded by: Councillor Noble RESOLVED THAT the minutes of the meeting held on November 07, 2023 be adopted. 1 Page 2of5 Motion Carried. 4. Reports/Briefings 6.1 Legislative Services Coordinator - AccessAbility Open House Report (verbal) The Manager of Administrative Services/Deputy Clerk provided a verbal report on behalf of the Legislative Services Coordinator summarizing the AccessAbility Open House that was held on June 1, 2024 in partnership with the City of St. Thomas Municipal Accessibility Advisory Committee. Moved by: Councillor Noble Seconded by: Jenn Salverda RESOLVED THAT the verbal report titled "AccessAbility Open House Report" from the Manager of Administrative Services/Deputy Clerk be received for information. Motion Carried. 6.2 Director of Human Resources - Introduction of Human Resources Manager (verbal) The Director of Human Resources introduced the new Manager of Human Resources, Emily Waldick, who will oversee Accessibility for the County of Elgin. 6.3 Manager of Administrative Services/Deputy Clerk - Updates to Joint Accessibility Advisory Committee Terms of Reference The Manager of Administrative Services/Deputy Clerk presented the report seeking the Committee's approval for changes to the Joint Accessibility Advisory Committee Terms of Reference. Moved by: Councillor Noble Seconded by: Jenn Salverda RESOLVED THAT the Joint Accessibility Advisory Committee approve the proposed changes to the Joint Accessibility Advisory Committee Terms of Reference; and THAT the updated Terms of Reference be brought to Central Elgin Council and Elgin County Council for their consideration. 2 Page 3of5 Motion Carried. 6.4 Manager of Administrative Services/Deputy Clerk - Administration Building Elevator Project Completion (verbal) The Manager of Administrative Services/Deputy Clerk provided a verbal update to the Committee detailing the completion of the County Administration Building Elevator Project. Moved by: Councillor Noble Seconded by: Jenn Salverda RESOLVED THAT the verbal report titled "Administrative Building Elevator Project Completion" from the Manager of Administrative Services/Deputy Clerk be received and filed. Motion Carried. 6.5 Manager of Administrative Services/Deputy Clerk - Member Recruitment (verbal) The Manager of Administrative Services/Deputy Clerk presented a verbal update to the Committee regarding the Committee's membership, and sought the Committee's approval to advertise for the recruitment of additional members to the Committee. Moved by: Jenn Salverda Seconded by: Councillor Noble RESOLVED THAT staff be directed to advertise for the recruitment of additional members for the Joint Accessibility Advisory Committee.
