005 COUNTY OF ELGIN By-Law No. 5 "TO ESTABLISH THE SALARIES OF THE PROVISIONAL OFFICERS EMPLOYED OR TO BE EMPLOYED BY THE PROVISIONAL MUNICIPAL CQUNCIL OF TH1t COUNTY 0E..ßLGIN." Passed on the 23rd of July 1852 vlliEREAS it is necessary and expedient to establish the Salaries of the Provisional County Officers _ BE IT THEREFORE enacted by the Provisional Munici- pal Council of the County of Elgin in Council assembled under and by virtue of the Upper Canada Municipal Corporation and Territorial Divisions Acts; and it is hereby enacted by Au- thority of the same that the Salary of the several County Officers be as follows: That the Provisional Clerk of the Council be paid ten shillings each day when in Council, and the remuneration for other services performed, to be decided by a vote of the Council ; - and that the Provisional Treasurer be paid the sum of five pounds for his duties for the present year. AND BE IT enacted that the said salaries shall be payable by the Provisional 'rreasurer on the cheque of the Provisional Warden, counter-signed by the Provisional Clerk.
