014 C OUN'n OF ELGIN By-Law No. 14 "TO :fIUlI12J)J!:TERMINE THE_ AMOUNT OF SALAIJ_IES AND CONFIRM THE APPOIN~MEN~S OF THE MUNICIPAL OFFICERS OF THE COUNTY OF ELGIN AND TO REPEAL BY-LAW NO. 5 HERETOFORE PASSED IN REFERENCE TO THE SAME." BE IT THEREFORE enacted by the Municipal Council of the County of Elgin by and under the authority of the Municipal Corporations Acts of Upper Canada: That William McKay shall be Clerk of this Council and shall receive as a Salary Fifty pounds per annum. That William Coyne shall be Treasurer of said County and shall receive a Salary of Forty pounds per an- num in lieu of all fees and percentages. That George T. Claris and Matthew Childs be Audi- tors and receive the sum of Ten shillings per day when en- gaged as such. That Richard Willis be Messenger and receive the sum of seven shillings and six pence per day while attend- ing sessions of this Council. AND BE IT FURTHER enacted that By-Law No. 5 here- tofore passed in reference to the same be hereby repealed Passed in Council 27th January 1854. Certified - W. McKay Thos.
