015 COUNTY OF ELGIN By-Law No. 15 "TO REPEAL BX-LAW NUMBEILFQVR AND TO mAKE PROVISION FOR 'rHE REMUNERATION OF THE COUNTY COUNCILLORS." Passed 27th January 1851}. ùffiEREAS it is expedient to repeal By-Law No. four and to make provision for remunerating the County Councillors for their attendance at the sittings of the County Council. BE IT THEREFORE enacted by the Municipal Council of the County of Elgin assembled under and b~ virtue of the Upper Canada Municipal Corporations Acts and it is hereby enacted by Authority of the same, that By--Law Number four be repealed. IT IS FURTHER enacted that it shall and may be lawful for each member of the Council of Elgin to have and receive for each day he shall actually sit in Council the sum of ten shillings. IT IS FURTHER enacted that each Councillor shall be allowed sixpence for each mile travelled one way only to attend said Council. AND BE IT FURTHER enacted that the Warden on the last day of each Session shall sign a draft upon the Trea~ surer of the County to pay said Councillors. AND IT IS FURTHER enacted that this By-Law shall apply to the session now holding and hereafter to be holden of this Council and is hereby limited according to Law to take effect two whole years at least from the passing thereof Passed in Council 27th January 1854 'rhos.
