Passed 5th April 1855. WHEREAS it is expedient to repeal By-Law number fifteen and to make provision for the Members of the Coun- cil for their attendance at the sittings of the County Council. BE IT THEREFORE enacted by the Municipal Council of the County of Elgin assembled under and by virtue of the Upper Canada Municipal Corporations Acts and it is hereby enacted by authority of the same that By-Law number fifteen and the same is hereby repealed. BE IT FURTHER enacted that the sum of Twelve shillings and sixpence per diem shall be paid to each and every Member of the Council for every day that he shall at- tend the sittings of this Council. IT IS FURTHER enacted that each Member of the Coun- cil shall be allowed sixpence for each mile travelled one way only to attend said Council. IT IS FURTHER enacted that the Warden on the last day of each session shall sign a draft upon the Treasurer of the County to pay said Councillors. AND IT IS FURTHER enacted that this By-Law shall apply to the Session now holding and hereafter to be holden and is hereby limited according to law to take effect Two whole years at least from passing thereof.
