WHEREAS it is necessary and expedient to appoint
Local Superintendants and Sub-Treasurers for Common School
purposes in the County of Elgin and for other purposes con-
nected therewith.
1st. Be it therefore enacted by the authority
aforesaid that the Local Superintendants of Common Schools
for the present year shall be as follows'-
Archibald Currie
Thomas McColl
Hirum Lumley
James Daniels
Charles Fraser
Richard Hughson
Edmond Sheppard
Aldborough
Dunwich
Southwold
Yarmouth
Malahide
Bayham
South Dorchester
2nd. And be it further enacted that the Treasurers
of thé several Municipalities shall be the Sub-Treasurers
for all monies raised or to be raised or collected or in any
manner appropriated for Common School purposes
3rd. And be it enacted that the Salaries of the
Local Superintendants of Common Schools shall be one pound
for each School Section in which a School shall have been
kept open for a period of six months in the then current
year and which the said Superintendants shall have visited
and delivered a Lecture according to Law
4th. And be it enacted that the County Auditors
shall be Auditors of Common School funds in the County and
all Sub-Treasurers are hereby required to submit an account
in detail of all monies passing through their hands accompa-
nied by necessary vouchers to substitute the same for the pur-
poses of said schools to the Clerk of the County Council on
or before the second Monday in January in each and every year
and said accounts shall be submitted by the Clerk to the Audi-
tors in order that they may make their report according to Law.

AND BE IT enacted that George Southwick and the
Reverend Mr. Caulfield shall be Trustees of the St. Thomas
Grammar School. The term of Office to be four years and
that Samuel Gurnsey and Henry A. Gustin be Trustees of the
Vienna Grammar School. The term of office to be four years
AND IT IS FURTHER enacted that Simon Newcome be
appointed Trustee of the Vienna Grammar School in place of
John Elliott Esquire deceased.
