By-Law No. 50
FOR GRANTING CERTAIN SUMS OF MONEY TO TrΠSUPPORT OF COUNTY
GRAMMAR SCHOOLS IN THE COUNTY OF ELGIN FOR THE YEAR 1857 AND
TO APPOINT TRUSTEES FOR TrΠGRAMMAR SCHOOLS IN THE SAID COUNTY
OF ELGIN."
Passed 19th June 1857.
WHEREAS it is expedient to grant aid to the County
Grammar Schools in the County of Elgin for the current year
and to appoint Trustees for the Grammar Schools in the said
County of Elgin -
BE IT THEREFORE enacted by the County Council of
the County of Elgin -
That the sum One hundred pounds be paid to the
Treasurer of the St. Thomas County Grammar School for inci-
dental expenses and towards the salary of the Teacher for
the current year.
AND IT IS FURTHER enacted that the sum of Twelve
pounds Two shillings be paid for the support of the Vienna
Grammar School.
AND IT IS FURTHER enacted that E. Ermatinger and
the Reverend Mr. Price be reappointed Trustees of the St.
Thomas Grammar SchQol for four years.
AND BE IT ENACTED that J. M. Crawford and J. W.
Wrong be reappointed Trustees of the Vienna Grammar School
for four years.
That R. Blackwood and W. Glasgow be Trustees of
the Fingal Grammar School for four years and that Dr.
Stewart be a Trustee of said school in place of Dr. Travis
Deceased.
