054 COUNTY OF ELGIN By-Law No. 54 "TO ASSESS_THE SEVERAL TOWNSHIPS IN THE COUNTY OF ELGIN IN A SUM EQUIVALENT TO THE LEGISLATIVE GRANT IN AID Of. COMMON SCHOOLS." Passed 17th June 1858. WHEREAS it is expedient and necessary to assess the several Townships in the County of Elgin in a sum equivalent to the Legislative Grant in aid of common Schools in said County. BE IT THEREFORE enacted by the Municipal Council of the County of Elgin by virtue of the Municipal Corpora- tions Acts of Upper Canada and in conformity with the School Act and its amendments and it is hereby enacted by authority of the same. That the following sums be assessed on the respec- tive Townships as follows that is to say on the Township of Aldborough 1. 38 Dunwich 68 Southwold 163 :).01 Yarmouth 156 5~ Malahide ll5 10 Dorchester 40 10/ Bayham 123 5/ Total È 705 AND BE IT FURTHER enacted that the said sums amounting in all to the sum of seven hundred and five pounds shall be assessed, levied and collected from all rateable property in the several Townships above enumerated over and above all charges or deductions whatsoever.
