057 COUNTY OF ELGIN 57 By-Law No INCORPORATED VILLAGE TO ESTABLISH A LOCILUP HQUSE_.IN THE COUNTY OF ELGIN OF VIENNA IN THE .. Passed 17 June 1858 WHEREAS by the act Thirteenth and Fourteenth Victoria Chapter Sixty-four Section Ten it is thereby en- acted that it shall be lawful for any of the Municipal Councils of the several Counties and Unions of Counties in Upper Canada to establish a Lock Up House in any Town, Incorporated Village or Police Village within the jurisdic- tion of such Municipal Council and to establish and pro- vide for such salary or fees to be paid to the constable to be placed in charge of every such lock up house as they may deem just and reasonable out of the funds of the County. AND WHEREAS a lock up house having been erected in the Incorporated Village of Vienna within the jurisdic- tion of the Municipal Council of the County of Elgin it is deemed expedient and desirable to establish the same. IT IS HEREBY enacted by the Municipal Council of the County of Elgin constituted and assembled by virtue of and under authority of the Municipal Corporations Acts of Upper Canada and it is hereby enacted by the authority aforesaid That the lock up house erected in the Village of Vienna be and is hereby established a lock up house within the jurisdiction of the Municipal Council of the said County of Elgin. AND BE IT ENACTED that the Constable to be placed in charge of said lock up house shall be paid the sum of Ten pounds per annum as salary for taking charge of the same and said sum shall be paid by the County Treasurer out of the general funds of the County.
