061 -' COUNTY OF ELGIN 61 By-Law No COUNCIL OF TO CONFIRM A CERTAIN BY-LAW PASSED BY THE DI§.- THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF SOUTHWOLD FOR TrÅ’ POSAL OF CERTAIN ROAD ALLOWANCE . IN SAID TOWNSHIP Passed 27th January 1859 WHEREAS it is expedient and necessary to con- firm a certain By-Law passed by the Council of the Cor- poration of the Township of Southwold for the disposal of a certain road allowance within said Township - BE IT THEREFORE enacted by the Council of the Corporation of the County of Elgin assembled under author- ity of the Municipal Institutions Act of Upper Canada and in conformity with the 329th Section of said act. And it is hereby enacted by authority of the same - That By-Law Sixty-one passed on the 4th October 1858 by the then Municipal Council of the Township of Southwold for the conveyance of the original allowance for road in front of lots number four and five in the first range west of the River Road to James Davis and Angus McIntosh in lieu of land taken from said lots for a road across lots number four and five first range west of the River Road in said Township be and the same is hereby confirmed. Certified - W (Cont'd) By-Law No 61 Page 2 TOWNSHIP OF SOUTHWOLD By-Law No. 61 "TO AUTHORIZE THE MUNICIPALITY OF THE TOWNSHIP OF SOUTH- WOLD TO SELL AND ORIGINAL ALLOWANCE FOR ROADS OR PARTS THEREOF WITHIN SUCH TOWNSHIP NOT BEING ON THE LIMITS OF ANY VILLAGE, TOWN OR CITY THEREON." Passed 4th October 1858 WHEREAS James Davis and Angus McIntosh made application to the Municipality of the Township of Southwold on the Twenty-ninth May last past for the original allowance for road in front of I. lots number four and five first range west of the River Road in said Township fun lieu of lands given by them for a road across lots number four and five first range west of the River Road in said Township. AND WHEREAS by the Second Section of the Act Twentieth Victoria Chapter Sixty-nine, it is hereby enacted that it shall always be lawful for the Municipality of each of the Townships of Upper Canada from time to. time to make a By-~aw or By-Laws for the stopping up and selling of any original allowance for roads or any Parts thereof within such Township and thereby to determine and declare the terms upon which such original allowance for roads shall be sold and conveyed. BE IT THEREFORE enacted by the Municipal Council of the Township of Southwold in Council assembled by virtue of the authority aforesåid. And it is hereby enacted that the original allowance for road in front of lots number four and five first range west of the River Road be conveyed in fee simple to James Davis and Angus McIntosh in lieu of the lands taken from said lots for a road across number four and five first range west of the River Road.
