THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED AND SIXTY

WHEREAS it is expedient to raise the sum
of three thousand four hundred and eight dollars
during the present year in the Townships comprised
within the County of Elgin for the support of Com-
mon Schools being a sum equivalent to the Legisla-
tive Grant for the year 1860 and that the same be
apportioned and raised in the respective Townships
in the County as contained in the schedule in this
By-Law and the full .amount paid over to the County
Treasurer without any deduction whatever
BE IT THEREFORE enacted by the Council of
the Corporation of the County of Elgin by virtue and
under the authority 50th Section of the Act 22nd
Victoria Chapter 64 Consolidated Statutes of Upper
Canada being an act representing Common Schools in
Upper Canada.
THAT THE SAID sum of three thousand four
hundred and eight dollars being a rate of thirteen
mills in the dollar shall be levied on the rateable
property in the Townships in the County of Elgin for
the purpose of raising the sum as an amount equal to
the Government Grant for Common Schools in the several
Townships comprised in the said County of Elgin as con-
tained in the following schedule and the full amount
paid over to the County Treasurer without any deduc-
tion as required by Law
