089 COUNTY OF ELGIN By-Law No. 89 TO PROVIDE FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF TOWNSHIP AND COUNTY LINES AND THE REGULATION OF STATUTE LABOUR THEREON". Passed 8th November 1860 WHEREAS by the 339th Section of the Act 22nd Victoria Chapter 54 of the Consolidated Statutes of Upper Canada it is recited that the County Council shall have exclusive jurisdiction oÝer all bridges across streams separating two Townships in the County and over every road or bridge dividing different Townships al- though such road may so deviate as in some places to lie wholly or in part within one Township. AND WHEREAS it is expedient to provide by By- Law for the regulation of Statute Labor on the several Township and County lines in the County of Elgin. BE IT THEREFORE enacted by the County Council of the Corporation of the County of Elgin by virtue and under authority of said Act. THAT THE Council of the County of Elgin hereby authorize Municipal Corporations adjoining the several County and Township lines in this County to appropriate and regulate the performance of Statute Labor on said Township and County lines.
