090 COUNTY OF ELGIN 90 By-Law No THOMAS AND AYLMER TO THE ST TO GRANT FURTHER TIME GRAVEL ROAD COMPANY FOR THE COMPLETION OF SAID ROAD Passed 8th November 1860 WrŒREAS by the Act 22nd Victoria Chapter 49 Section 71st of the Consolidated Statutes of Upper Canada it is enacted as follows "That every company within two years from the day of their becoming incorporated under this Act complete every road or extension thereof not more than five miles in length and any other work under- taken by them and for the completion whereof they have become incorporated and in default thereof they shall forfeit all the corporate and other powers and authority which they have acquired and all their cor- porate powers shall thenceforth cease and determine unless further time be granted by a By-Law of the County in which such road or the greatest portion thereof is situated" WHEREAS certain stockholders of the St. Thomas and Aylmer Gravel Road Company have petitioned the Coun- cil of the County of Elgin being the County in which said gravel road is situated to pass a By-Law to extend the time for the completion of said road. AND WHEREAS it is deemed expedient to grant further time for the completion of said gravel road BE IT THEREFORE enacted by the Municipal Coun- cil of the Corporation of the County of Elgin by virtue of the authority aforesaid THAT TrŒ time for the completion of the St. Thomas Aylmer Gravel Road be extended from May in the year one thousand eight hundred and sixty-two till the first day of November in the same year in so far as this Council has power to do so under said hereinbefore recited act. 1860 D.
