102 COUNTY OF ELGIN By-Law No. 102 TO CONFIRM BYLAW NUMBER 91 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE TOWNSHIP OF SOUTHWOLD". Passed 6th June 1862. WHEREAS A Bylaw numbered 91 was passed by the Municipal Council of the Township of Southwold on the 7th day of October A.D. 1861 to convey to Neil Graham and Donald Crawford the original allowance for road in front of lot number four in the fourth concession of the said Township of Southwold being the allowance adjoining said lot number four between the fourth concession and the Gore or fifth concession in said Township.of Southwold. Said allowance having been reported to be useless as a public road. BE IT THEREFORE enacted by the Council of the Corporation of the County of Elgin by virtue of the authority of the 343 Section of the Act 22nd Victoria, Chapter 54 of the Consolidated Statutes for Upper Canada. McKay - Clerk See copy of By-Law No 91 of Southwold (cont'd) , Page 2 102 By-Law No TOWNSHIP OF SOUTHWOLD By-Law No. 91 "TO CONVEY CERTAIN ROAD ALLOWANCES THEREIN MENTIONED' Passed October 7th 1861 WHEREAS THE original road allowance between the fourth and fifth concession or Gore in front of lots three and four on the fourth concession of the Township of Southwold AND WHEREAS Jesse P. Ball, a Deputy Provincial Land Surveyor, has in a Report of the said road now laid before this Council certified that the Road laid out and now travelled in front of the Gore in the Township of Southwold is quite sufficient for the use and accommodation of the public and that the original allowance of road in front of the fourth concession never has been opened or travelled AND WHEREAS over one months notice has been given of the intention to pass this By-Law at the present session of this Council and to submit the same to the County Council at a succeeding meeting of that body for their approval by putting up six written notices in as many places in the vicinity of the said road allowance as well as by publishing the same in the St. Thomas Dispatch for three successive weeks. AND WHEREAS Neil Graham and Donald Crawford are desirous of getting the allowance of road north of the Gore for which they will pay for the said road allowance the sum of ten dollars per acre. THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL of the Township of Southwold by virtue of the authority vested in them by the Municipal Institution Act of Upper Canada hereby conveys to and vest in Neil Graham and Donald Crawford, the owners of said lots north of the Gore, that portion of allowance of road in front of lot number four in the fourth concession in the Township of Southwold aforesaid Signed.
