103 COUNTY OF ELGIN By-Law No. lO~ "TO AUTHORIZE THE COUNCIL. OF THE CORPORATION OF THE COUNTY OF ELGIN T9 APPROPRIATE AN ADDITIONAL SUM OF TWO HUNDRED AND FIFTY DOLLARS TOWARDS THE REPAIR OF THE MACKINTOSH BRIDGE ACROSS THE RIVER THAMES." Passed 6th June 1862. WHEREAS on the 11th day of October 1861 the sum of Two Hundred and Fifty Dollars was· granted by this Council towards the repair of the Mackintosh Bridge. AND WHEREAS it has been reported by the County' Engineer of the county of Elgin that an additional sum will be required to be appropriated by this County for the repair of said Bridge. BE IT THEREFORE enacted by the Counèil o~ the Corporation of the 'County of Elgin in Council Assembled. THAT an addit~onal sum of Two Hundred and Fifty Dollars be appropriated by this Council towards the repair of the Mackintosh Bridge across the River Thames on the boundary between the Counties of Elgin and Middlesex and adjoining the Township line between Dunwichand Southwold. AND IT IS ALSO enac:ted that T. W. Dobbie the County Engineer in connection with the Engineer of Middle- sex, prepare plans and sp,ecifications of the Work and receive tenders for the same. AND ALSO that the Warden of this County meet said Engineers and the Warden of Middlesex to decide upon tenders and execute contracts on behalf of this Council for said Work, for an amount not exceeding Five Hundred Dollars inclusive of the sum already granted to:c,såid Bridge, and it shall be the duty of the County Engineer to oversee said Work, and his certificate of the perform- ance of the whole or part thereof èountersigned by the Wardens will be sufficient authority for the County Trea- surer to pay the same. AND IT IS ALSO enacted that this By-Law shall have no force or effect until a By-Law appropriating a similar amount be passed by the adjoining County of Middle- sex.
