112 COUNTY OF ELGIN 112 By-Law No TO RAISE THE SUM OF TWENTY-TWO THOUSAND NINE HUNDRED AND MUNICIPALITIES OF THE COUNTY FI FTY DOLLARS IN THE SEVERAL FOR THE GENERAL PURPOSES OF THE COUNTY DURING THE OF ELGIN ONE THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED AND SIXTY-THREE INCLUDING YEAR FIFTY DOLLARS TO BE RAISED IN THE SUM OF THREE HUNDRED AND Passed 18 June 1863 " ALDBOROUGH_ONLY. WHEREAS it is necessary and expedient to levy and collect in the several Municipalities in the County of Elgin a sufficient sum for General Purposes of said County for the year One Thousand Eight Hundred and Sixty-three. WHEREAS by the Eleventh Section of the Act twenty- second Victoria, chapter fifty-five of the Consolidated Stat- utes for Upper Canada, the Council of every Municipality is required every year to make estimates of all sums which may be required for the lawful purposes of the .Municipality in which such sums are required to be levied. AND BY THE twelfth section of said Act every Mun- icipality is authorized to pass one or several By-Laws to authorize the levying and collecting of a rate or ratesuOf so much in the Dollar upon the assessed value of the property therein as the Council deem sufficient to raise the sum re- quired on such estimates. AND WHEREAS an estimate has been made by the Coun- cil of the said County of Elgin of the sums requirBd fòw thB lawful purposes of the Municipality of the County of Elgin for the current year showing that the sum of Twenty-two Thous- and Nine Hundred and Fifty Dollars will be required for the General Purposes thereof as follows: $ 4,500 6,400 4,160 500 520 300 3,500 Debentures and Municipal Loan Bills Payable Grammar Schools Súperintendent of Schools Board of Public Instruction Administration of Justice & Jurors Interest Fund 112 By-Law No Page 2 2,590 130 $22,600 }!\22, ~§g General Purposes Support of an Idiot or Insane Person Aldborough Seed Loan BE IT THEREFORE enacted by the Council of the Cor- poration of the County of Elgin by virtue of the authority aforesaid. THAT there shall be raised and levied on the sev- eral Municipalities in the County of Elgin during the year One Thousand Eight Hundred and Sixty-three, the sum of Twenty- two Thousand Nine Hundred and Fifty Dollars for the general expenditure and liabilities of said County as follows: $ 4,500 6,400 4,160 500 520 300 3,500 2,590 130 $22,600 J22,~§g Debentures and Municipal Loan Bills Payable Grammar Schools Superintendent of Schools Boards of Public Instruction Administration of Justice and Jurors General Purposes Support of an Idiot Interests Fund in Aldborough Only) (Seed Loan AND BE IT enacted that the said sum of Twenty-Two Thousand Six Hundred Dollars be apportioned amongst the several Municipalities in the County of Elgin as contained in the schedule attached and forming part of this By-Law and the full amounts thereof paid over to the County Treasurer as required by Law. AND that there shall be raised, levied and collected upon the assessed value of the rateable property in the said County of Elgin a rate of Five Mills in the Dollar for the purpose of raising the sum of Twenty-two Thousand Six Hundred Dollars AND IT IS ALSO enacted that the sum of Three Hund- red and Fifty Dollars shall be raised and collected on the rateable property in the Township of Aldborough only and in addition to all other rates for and on account of the Local Seed Loan Rate to that Township.
