116 COUNTY OF ELGIN By-Law No. 116 TO APPOINT GRAMMAR SCHOOL TRUSTEES FOR THE GRAMMAR SCHOOLS IN THE COUNTY OF ELGIN AND PROVIDE FOR THE SUPPORT OF SAID SCHOOLS." Passed 28th January 1864. WHEREAS it is expedient and necessary to appoint Grammar School Trustees for the Grammar Schools in the County of Elgin and to provide for the support of said Schools. BE IT THEREFORE enacted by the Council of the Cor- poration of the County of Elgin by virtue of the Grammar School Act, Chapter Sixty-three of the Consolidated Statutes for Upper Canada and under authority thereof. THAT David J. Huges and John McKay be and are here- by reappointed Trustees of the·, ·St. Thomas County Grammar School with term of office for four years. AND IT IS ALSO enacted that George Suffel and the Rev. James Cooper be and are hereby appointed Trustees of the Vienna County Grammar School with term of office for four years AND ALSO THAT Charles Draeske and Robert McCally be appointed Trustees of the Vienna County Grammar School in place of Robert Nicholl and W. H. Easkins, who have removed from the County. AND IT IS HEREBY enacted by virtue of the Sixteenth Section of said Grammar School Act, that the sum of Three Hund- red Dollars be appropriated towards the salary of theO'Teacher of the st. Thomas County Grammar School for the present year. AND ALSO THAT the sum of Two Hundred Dollars be ap- propriated towards the salary of the Teacher of the Vienna County Grammar School for the current year. AND IT IS ALSO enacted that said appropriations are made to said Grammar Schools on condition that pupils from the County attend said Schools free from payment of school fees. AND IT IS enacted that this By-Law shall be in force and take effect from and after the date of passing thereof.
