129 COUNTY OF ELGIN By-Law No. 129 "TO APPROPRIATE THE SUM OF TWO HUNDRED AND SEVENTY-FIVE DOLLARS TOWARDS THE ERECTION OF A BRIDGE ACROSS KETTLE CREEK NEAR TUR- VILLS MILLS ON THE BOUNDARY BETWEEN THE MUNICIPALITIES OF THE TOWN OF ST. THOMAS AND THE COUNTY OF ELGIN." Passed 23rd June 1865. WHEREAS the Bridge across Kettle Creek near Turvills Mills having been carried away, it is deemed expedient for the convenience of public travel that a New Bridge be erected in lieu thereof. AND WHEREAS by the 327th Section of the Municipal Institutions Act, Chapter 54 of the Consolidated Statutes for Upper Canada, it is recited that the Councils of the Municip- alities between which the bridge or road lies shall have,joint jurisdiction of the same, although the road or bridge may so deviate as in some places to be wholly or in part within one County or Town. AND WHEREAS the site for said Bridge, being situate on Kettle Creek, the boundary between the Town of St. Thomas and the County of Elgin is by virtue of said Act under the joint jurisdiction of the said Town of St. Thomas and the County of Elgin,the Municipalities between which said Bridge lies. BE IT THEREFORE enacted by the Municipal Council of the Corporation of the County of Elgin under and by virtue of the authority aforesaid. THAT the sum of Two Hundred and Seventy-Five Dollars be appropriated towards the erection of a bridge across Kettle Creek near Turvills Mills on the boundary between the Munici...·· þalities of the Town of St. Thomas and the County of Elgin. AND IT IS enacted that the County Treasurer is here- by authorized to pay said amount on the certificate of Leslie Pearce and W. H. Mandeville certifying that said money has been duly expended and the work performed. AND IT IS ALSO enacted that this By-Law shall have no force until a By-Law has been passed in similar terms by the Council of the Corporation of the Town of St. Thomas. st.
