133 COUNTY OF ELGIN By-Law No. IJJ TO APPOINT LOCAL SUPERINTENDENTS OF COMMON SCHOOLS FOR THE TOWNSHIPS IN THE COUNTY OF ELGIN FOR THE YEAR ONE THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED AND SIXTY-SIX." Passed in Council 25th January 1866. WHEREAS it is deemed e~pedient and necessary to ap- point Local Superintendents of Common Schools in the Townships in the County of Elgin for the year 1866. BE IT THEREFORE enacted by the Municipal Council of the Corporation of the County of Elgin under authority and by virtue of the Fifty-third Section of the Upper Canada School Act, chapter Sixty-four of the ,Consolidated Statutes for Upper Canada. THAT John S. McCòl1 be and is hereby appointed Local Superintendent of Common Schools in the Townships comprised in the West Riding of the County of Elgin, namely A1dborough, Dun- wich, and Southwo1d for the present year at a salary of Two Hundred and Twenty Dollars per annum. AND that the Rev. Edmund Sheppard be and is hereby appointed Local Superintendent of Common Schools in the Town- ships comprised in the East Riding of the County of Elgin, namely South Dorchester, Malahide, Bayham, and Yarmouth for the current year at a salary of Three Hundred Dollars per annum. AND IT IS ALSO enacted thatthe:;sum of Twenty-five Dollars be allowed the Local Superintendent of the East Riding and the sum of Fifteen Dollars be allowed to the Superintendent of the West Riding of the County for postages and stationery. AND IT IS enacted that this By-Law shall take effect and be in force from and after the first day of April 1866. Passed in Council the Twenty-fifth day of Janaury 1866 st.
