COUNTY OF ELGIN
By-Law No. 134
TO APPOINT COUNTY AUDITORS IN THE COUNTY OF ELGIN FOR THE
YEAR ONE THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED AND SIXTY-SIX."
Passed 25th January 1866.
WHEREAS it is deemed expedient and necessary to
appoint auditors to examine and report upon all accounts affect-
ing the Oorporation of the County of Elgin or relating to any
matter under its control or within its jurisdiction for the
year ending the Thirty-first day of December One Thousand Eight
Hundred and Sixty-five.
BE IT THEREFORE enacted by the Council of the Cor-
poration of the County of Elgin under authority and by virtue
of the One Hundred and Sixty-seventh Section of the Municipal
Institutions Act, Chapter Fifty-four of the Consolidated Stat-
utes for Upper Canada.
THAT William J. White and Colin McDougald be and
are hereby appointed County Auditors of the Corporation of the
County of Elgin for the year 1866.
AND IT IS ALSO enacted under authority of the l69th
Section of said Act that the auditors shall prepare an abstract
of the receipts, expenditur~s and liabilities of the Corporat-
ion and also a detailed statement of the said particulars, and
an abstract of School accounts.
AND IT IS ALSO enacted that the Auditors abstract
and detailed statement shall be printed and published in sheets
AND IT IS ALSO enacted that the Auditors shall be
paid the sum of Thirty Dollars each for their services during
the year One Thousand Eight Hundred and Sixty-six.
AND IT IS ALSO enacted that this By-Law shall be in
force and take effect from and after the passing thereof.
