139 COUNTY OF ELGIN By-Law No. 139 "TO MAKE APPROPRIATIONS FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF THE BOUNDARY LINES BETWEEN THE COUNTY OF ELGIN AND THE ADJOINING COUNTIES." Passed 25th January 1866. WHEREAS it is expedient to make certain appropriat- ions to improve the boundary lines between the County of Elgin and the adjoining Counties. BE IT THEREFORE enacted by the Municipal Council of the County of Elgin by virtue and under authority of the 34?nd Section of the Municipal Institutions Act, Chapter 54 of the Consolidated Statutes for Upper Canada. THAT the sum of fifty dollars be appropriated for the improvement of that part of the line between the Counties of Elgin and Middlesex lying between the Townships of Dela- ware and Southwold provided the County of Middlesex appropri- ate alike amount for the same purpose. AND that the Reeve of Southwold be a commissioner to expend said amount. AND IT IS ALSO enacted that the sum of one hundred dollars be granted for the improvement of the County line be- tween the Townships of South Dorchester and North Dorchester provided the Council of the County of Middlesex grant a like amount for the same purpose. AND that the Deputy Reeve of South Dorchester be a commissioner to expend said amount. AND IT IS ALSO enacted that the sum of two hundred dollars be granted to improve the Road between the County of Elgin and the adjoining County of Norfolk provided the Council of the County of Norfolk appropriate a like amount for the same purpose and that the Reeve of Bayham be a commissioner to expend said amount. AND IT IS ALSO enacted that the sum of one hundred dollars be appropriated towards the improvement of the line of Road between the County of Elgin and the adjoining County of Kent provided the Council of ~he County of Kent appropriate a like amount for the same purpose. AND that the Reeve of Aldborough be a commissioner to expend said amount. (cont'd) By-Law No. 139 Page 2 AND IT IS ALSO enacted that the County Treasurer pay said amounts on the certificate of said commissioners certifying that the work has been performed and the amount duly expended.
