147 COUNTY OF ELGIN By-Law No 147 'rHE TO CONFIRM BY-LAW NUMBER ONE HUNDRED AND FORTY-TWO OF CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF DUNWICH 1866 WHERF~S by the second subsection of Section Number 343 of Chapter 54 of the Consolidated Statutes for Upper Canada it is mentioned that no By-Law for the sale or stopping up of any original allowance for road within any Township shall have any force unless passed in accordance with the 321st Section of said act nor until confirmed by a By-Law of the Council of the County in which the Township is situated at an ordinary session of the County Council held not sooner than three months nor later than one year next after the passing thereof. D 14 November A Passed AND WHEREAS the Council of the Municipality of the Township of Dunwich on the seventh day of May A. D. 1866 passed By-Law number 142 to alter and establish a road across lots number ten, eleven, twelve, thirteen, fourteen and fifteen in the Tenth Concession of the said Township of Dunwich and to authorize the conveyance of the original allowance for road between the ninth and tenth concessions of Dunwich adjoining lots numbers ten, eleven and twelve in said tenth concession to the owners of said lots in lieu of the new or travelled road given through their land and also to authorize the conveyance of the original allowance for road between the tenth and eleventh concession of said Township of Dunwich adjoining lots twelve, thirteen, fourteen and fifteen in the tenth concession of said Township of Dunwich to the owners of said lots in lieu of a new or travelled road given through their land and they being the persons through whose land the new or travelled road runs. AND WHEREAS said By-Law number 142 of the Township of Dunwich represents that due and lawful notice has been given of said By-Law and that the original allowance has been report- ed by a Provincial Land Surveyor as impracticable and too ex- pensive to be made for a road and that said new road is suf- ficient for the purposes of a public highway. BE IT THEREFORE enacted by the Municipal Council of the Corporation of the County of Elgin by virtue of the authority aforesaid - That By-Law number one hundred and forty-two of the Municipality of the Township of Dunwich be and is hereby con- firmed and that this By-Law take effect from and after the date of the passing thereof.
