149 COUNTY OF ELGIN 149 By-Law No TO APPROPRIATE THE SUM OF TWELVE HUNDRED AND FIFTY DOLLARS TOWARDS THE ERECTION OF DRILL SrÅ’DS IN THE COUNTY OF ELGIN Passed 15th November 1866 WHEREAS it is deemed expedient and necessary to provide Drill Sheds for the several Volunteer Militia Companies in the County of Elgin. AND WHEREAS the Provincial Government of Canada have offered to contribute the sum of two hundred and fifty dollars for eachârill shed erected in the County provided the Local Municipality appropriate a like amount for the same purpose IT IS THEREFORE hereby enacted by the Municipal Corporation of the County of Elgin under authority of the provisions of the Act 29 & 30th Victoria Chapter twelve That the sum of two hundred and fifty dollars each be appropriated toward the erection of drill sheds at the Village of Vienna, the Village of Aylmer, the Village of Port Stanley and the Village of Wallacetown in the said County of Elgin to meet the amounts offered by the Provinc- ial Government towards the erection of said works AND IT IS ALSO enacted that the sum of two hundred and fifty dollars be granted towards the erection of a drill shed at the Town of St. Thomas provided the Council of said Town grant an equal amount for the same purpose AND THE Warden of the County of Elgin is hereby authorized on behalf of this Council to execute an order for the County Treasurer to pay said amount on certificate of the Captains of the several Volunteer Companies certifying that the works have been completed, that the Government appro- priation has been received and that the works have been ap- proved by the Provincial Government.
