152 COUNTY OF ELGIN 152 By-Law No ~O PROVIDE FOR REWARDING ANY PERSON APPREHENDING PERSON§. STEALING HORSES' GUILTY OF Passed 22nd January 1867 WHEREAS by the Act 29-30 Victoria Chapter 51 it is enacted by the 26th Sub section of Section 355 of said Act that the Council of every County Municipality in Upper Canada is required to provide by By-Law that a sum nôt less than twenty dollars shall be payable as a reward to any person or persons who shall pursue and apprehend or cause to be apprehended any person or persons guilty of stealing any horse or mare within the said County. BE IT THEREFORE enacted by the Council of the Corporation of the County of Elgin by virtue and under authority of the twenty-sixth subsection of section number three hundred and fifty-five of the act 29-JO Victoria Chapter fifty-one that the sum of thirty dollars be paid as a reward to any person or persons who shall pursue and apprehend or cause to be apprehended any person or persons guilty of stealing any horse or mare within the said County of Elgin, and that such reward shall be paid out of the funds of the Municipality on conviction of the thief and on an order of the Judge before whom the conviction is obtained.
