:TO APPOINT COUNTY AUDITORS IN THE COUNTY OF ELGIN FOR THE

Passed 25th January 1867.
WHEREAS it is deemed expedient and necessary to
appoint Auditors to examine and report upon all accounts
affecting the Corporation or relating to any matter under
its control or within its jurisdiction, for the year ending
on the thirty-first day of December preceding their appointment
BE IT THEREFORE enacted by the Municipal Council of
the Corporation of the County of Elgin under authority and by
virtue of the one hundred and sixty-ninth section of the Muni-
cipal Institutions Act 29 & 30th Victoria Chapter fifty-one
ThatJ. P. Martyn and W..J. White be and are here-
by appointed Auditors of the Corporation of the County of
Elgin for the year one thousand eight hundred and sixty-
seven.
AND IT IS enacted under authority of the 171st
section of said act that the Auditors shall prepare a detail-
ed statement and abstract of the receipts, expenditures and
liabilities of the Corporation and that the detailed state-
ment of the said particulars shall be made in sheets.
AND IT IS ALSO enacted that the Clerk of said Cor-
poration shall publish the Audi tors Abstract ,Report and de-
tailed statement in sheets.
AND IT IS ALSO enacted that it shall be the duty
of the Auditors to audit the School Accounts, the Land Tax
Receipts and all other accounts by law required.
AND IT IS enacted that the Auditors shall receive
the sum of thirty dollars each for their services during the
year one thousand eight hundred and sixty-seven.
AND IT IS enacted that this By-Law shall be in
force from and after the date of the passing thereof.
