By-Law No. 154
:TO ArpOINT LOCAL SUPERINTENDENTS OF COMMON SCHOOLS FOR THE
TOWNSHIPS IN THE COUNTY OF ELGIN FOR THE YEAR ONE THOUSAND
EIGHT HUNDRED AND SIXTY-SEVEN".
Passed in Council 25th January 1867
WHEREAS it is deemed expedient and necessary to
appoint Local Superintendents of Common Schools in the Town-
ships in the County of Elgin for the year 1867.
BE IT THEREFORE enacted by the Municipal Council
of the Corporation of the County of Elgin under authority
and by virtue of the fifty-third section of the Upper Canada
School Act Chapter sixty-four of the Consolidated Statutes
for Upper Canada ~
That Samuel McColl be and is hereby appointed
Local Superintendent of Common Schools in the Townships
comprised in the West Riding of the County of Elgin, namely
Aldborough, Dunwich and Southwold,for the present year at
a salary of tWQ hundred and twenty dollars per annum.
And that A. F. Butler be and is hereby appointed
Local Superintendent of Common Schools in the Townships com-
prised in the East Riding of the County of Elgin ,namely South
Dorchester, Malahide, Bayham and Yarmouth, for the current
year at a salary of three hundred dollars per annum.
AND IT IS ALSO enacted that the sum Qftwenty-
five dollars be allowed the Local Superintendent of the
East Riding and the sum of fifteen dollars be allowed to
the Superintendent of the West Riding of the County for
Postages and Stationery.
AND IT IS enacted that this By-Law shall take effect
and be in force from and after the first day of April 1867
