By-Law No. 172
"TO APPROPRIATE THE SUM OF THIRTY DOLLARS FOR THE REPAIR
OF A BRIDGE ON THE COUNTY LINE BETWEEN THE TOWNSHIPS OF
SOUTH DORCHESTER AND WESTMINSTER KNOWN AS THE BELMONT BRIDGE."
WHEREAS it is necessary to appropriate the sum of
Thirty Dollars towards the repair of the bridge across Ket-
tle Creek on the County line between the Townships of South
Dorchester and Westminster known as the Belmont Bridge,
said Bridge being in a d~gerous state.
BE IT THEREB0RE enacted by the Corporation of the
County of Elgin under authority and by virtue of the Munici-
pal Institutions Act
THAT the sum of Thirty Dollars be and is hereby
appropriated towards the repair of the Bridge at or near
the Village of Belmont and known as the Belmont Bridge across
Kettle Creek on the County line between the Counties of El-
gin and Middlesex and between the Townships of South Dor-
chester and Westminster provided the County of Middlesex
grant a like amount for the same purpose.
AND IT IS ALSO enacted that Merritt Woodworth be
a tommissioner on behalf of the County of Elgin to erect
said bridge, and that the Treasurer of Elgin pay said amount
on certificate of said 80mmissioner that the work has been
performed and that the County of Middlesex had appropriated
a like amount.
AND IT IS ALSO enacted that this By-Law shall take
effect from and after the date of the passing thereof.
Passed on the Eleventh day of November in the year
of our Lord, One Thousand Eight Hundred and Sixty-eight.
