By-Law No. 190
TO APPOINT A BOARD OF AUDIT TO AUDIT SUCH OF THE COUNTY ACCOUNTS
AND DEMANDS AS SHALL BE DELIVERED ON THE FIRST DAY OF THE SIT-
TINGS OF THE COURTS OF GENERAL SESSIONS OF THE PEACE OR OF OYER
AND TERMINER AND GENERAL JAIL DELIVERY."

WHEREAS by an Act passed by the Parliament of the
Province of Ontario in the year 1869, entitled an Act to amend
Subsections two and three of Section nine of the Law Reform
Act of 1868 and to repeal Section two of Chapter 121 of the Con-
solidated Statutes for Upper Canada entitled and Act respecting
the expenditure of County funds for certain purposes within
Upper Canada.
WHEREBY it is enacted that from and after the passing
of said Act such of the said accounts and demands as shall be
delivered on the first days of the sittings of the said Court
of General Sessions of the Peace or of Oyer and Terminer and
General Jail delivery shall be audited by a Board of Audit
composed of the Chairman of the Court of General Sessions of
the Peace and two other persons who shall be appointed annually
for that purpose by the County Council of such County at their
first meeting in each year, not more than one of such persons
being a member for the time being of such County Council and
such accounts and demands shall be taken into oonsideration in
the week next. succeeding the week in which such sittings ended
and :1d!Ìsposed of as soon as practicable, and that it shall and
may be lawful for the County Council of any County to pay the
persons appointed by them to serve on the Board of Audit cons-
titùted by this Act any sum not exceeding two dollars each for
their attendance at such audit.
BE IT THEREFORE enacted by the Corporation of the
County of Elgin in County Council assembled and by virtue of
the authority aforesaid
THAT David J. Hughes, Chairman of the General Session
of the Peace, Samuel Price and John Smith, Esquires be and are
hereby appointed and constituted a Board of Audit to audit such
accounts and demands as shall be delivered on the first days of
the sittings of the Courts of General Sessions of the Peace or
of Oyer and Terminer and General Jail delivery for the year 1870

'" AND IT IS enacted that such Board of Audit shall
receive from the County Treasurer the sum of two dollars ~ach
for their attendance at such audit.
AND that this By-Law shall take effect from and after
the twenty-seventh day of January, one thousand eight hundred
and seventy.
