COUNTY OF ELGIN
By-Law No. 202
TO GRANT TO THE TOWNSHIP OF DUNWICH THE SUM OF FIVE HUNDRED
DOLLARS. IN AID OF MAKING AN EXTENSION TO THE COYNE ROAD
BRIDGE" .
Passed in Council 27 January 1871
WHEREAS by the eighth sub-section of section number
344 of the Municipal Institutions Act Act 29 - 30 Victoria
Chapter 51 power is given to counties to grant any township
in the county aid by loan or otherwise toward opening or making
any new bridge or road in the township in cases where the
Council deems the county at large sufficiently interested in
the work to justify assistance but not sufficiently interested
to justify the Council in at once assuming the same as a
county work.
AND WHEREAS the County Council of the County of
Elgin deems it expedient to aid the Township of Dunwich one
of the townships of the Comnty of Elgin in the extension of
the Coyne Road Bridge in said Township of Dunwich.
BE IT THEREFORE enacted by the Corporation of the
County of Elgin by virtue and under the authority aforesaid -
That the sum of Five Hundred Dollars be granted by
this council to the Township of Dunwich in aid of the extension
of the Coyne Road Bridge.
AND IT ALSO enacted that said amount be paid by the
County Treasurer of Elgin on certificate of Thomas McColl cert-
ifying that the amount has been expended in said extension
of said bridge and that Thomas McColl be a Commissioner to
expend said amount. And it is also enacted that this By-law
shall be in force and take effect from and after the 27th day
of January 1871.
