204 COUNTY OF ELGIN By-Law No. 204 TO APPROPRIATE THE SUM OF TWELVE HUNDRED DOLLARS TOWARD 'rHE ERECTION OF A BlUDGE ACROSS THE RIVER THAMES ON 'mE COUN'ry J"INE BETWEEN THE COUNTIES OF ELGIN , KENT AND MIDDLESEX". Passed in Council 27 January 1871. WHEREAS by an award made on the 31st day of August A. D. 1870 by the Arbitrators appointed to determine the matter of the cost of the building of a bridge across the River Thames on the boundary between the Counties of Elgin. Kent and Middlesex it was decided that three-tenths of the cost thereof not ex- ceeding Twelve Hundred Dollars should be paid by the County of Elgin. BE IT THEREFORE enacted by the Corporation of the County of Elgin under authority and by virtue of the Municipal Institutions Act - That the sum of twelve hundred dollars be and is hereby appropriated by the Corporation of the County of Elgin toward the building of a bridge across the River Thames on the boundary between the Counties of Elgin, Kent and Middlesex. AND IT IS ALSO enacted that John McKillop is hereby appointed to act on behalf of this county as Commissioner in connection with the Engineer appointed by this Council and the Engineers from the adjoining counties. AND IT IS ALSO enacted that said appropriation of twelve hundred dollars be paid by the County Treasurer of Elgin on certificate of William Bowman of London the Engineer appoint- ed by this county certifying that the amount has been duly expended. AND IT IS ALSO enacted that By-law number 181 here- tofore passed by this Council re?pecting said bridge be and is hereby repealed and that this By-law shall be in force and take effect on the 27th day of January A.
