209 COUNTY OF ELGIN By-Law No. 209 TO APPOINT AN INSPECTOR OF PUBLIC SCHOOLS I~ THE~QUN1X Q:E E~~;m". Passed in Council 21 June 1871 WHEREAS by the Eighth Section of the Act Thirty- fourth Victoria Chapter Thirty-three of the Statutes of the Province of Ontario it is enacted that each County Council shall appoint from among those holding the necessary certificate of qualification one person to be Inspector of Public Schools in such County and in Counties wheFe there are or shall be more than Fifty Public Schools, the County Council may appoint two or more persons (according to the number of schools) holding such certificates to be Inspectors and prescribe and number the"~he Territorial limits of each. BE IT THEREFORE enacted by the Corporation of the County of Elgin in Council assembled under and by virtue of the authority aforesaid. That A.F. Butler be and is hereby appointed Inspector of Public Schools in the County of Elgin, and that the Inspector be paid by this County at the rate of Five dollars per school per annum payable quarterly. AND IT IS enacted that this By-Law shall be in force and take effect from and after the date of the passing thereof. st. Thomas County of Elgin T.M.
