213 COUNTY OF ELGIN By-Law No. 213 TO MAKE APPROPRIATIONS FOR BRIDGES ON COUNTY LINES BETWEEN THE COUNTY-º-J):_ ELGIN AND ADJOINING COUNTIES". Passed in Council 22 June 1871 WHEREAS by the twelfth sub-section of section 341 of the Municipal Act of 1866 it is enacted that it shall be the duty of County Councils to erect and maintain bridges over rivers forming township or county boundary lines. BE IT THEREFORE enacted by the Corporation of the County of Elgin in County Council assembled by virtue of the authority aforesaid. That the sum of two hundred dollars be granted for the building of a bridge on the county line between Elgin and Norfolk. And that J'ames Turnbull be a Commissioner to expend said amount. That the sum of twenty three dollars be granted towards the filling up of Kettle Creek at the bridge at Bel- mont on the county line. And that Robert Nicholl be a Commissioner to expend said amount. That the sum of twenty six dollars be granted for one half of the cost of repairing a bridge on the county line between Southwold and Delaware as certified by A. McGugan a Commissioner that the work has been completed. That Archibald Kerr be a Commissioner to superintend the repairs on the MacIntosh Bridge across the River Thames in conjunction with the Engineer or Commissioner.· appointed by the County of Middlesex.
