216 COUNTY OF ELGIN By-Law No. 216 TO APPOINT COUNTY AUDITORS IN THE COUNTY OF ELGIN" Passed in Council 26 January 1872 WHEREAS by the 170th section of the Municipal Act every Council is required to appoint two auditors to examine and report upon all accounts affecting the Corporation or relating to any matter under its control or within its juris- diction for the year ending the thirty first day of December preceding their appointment. BE IT THEREFORE enacted by the County Council of the County of Elgin under the Authority aforesaid _ That J. P. Martyn and William J. White be and hereby appointed ~~ditors to audit all accounts affecting the County of Elgin for the year one thousand eight hundred and seventy one and also all school accounts or other accounts re- quired by statute or order of County Council. AND THAT said Auditors shall receive for their ser- vices during the current year the sum of thirty dollars each and that this By-law shall take effect from the 26th day of January A. D. 1872.
