239 COUNTY OF ELGIN By-Law No. 239 "TO APPOINT TWO INSPECTORS OF WEIGHTS AND MEASURES FOR THE COUNTY OF ELGIN AND TO REPEAL BY-LAW NUMBER ONE HUNDRED AND FORTY-SIX HERETOFORE PASSED IN THAT BEHALF". Passed 5 June 1873. WHEREAS IT IS deemed expedient to appoint two In- spectors of Weights and Measures for the County of Elgin and to divide the County into two divisions to be called the Eastern and Western Divisions of the County. BE IT enacted by the Corporation of the County of Elgin in Council assembled and under authority of the Weights and Measures Act. That the County of Elgin be divided into two di- visions and that the West Riding of the county, compris- ing the Townships of Aldborough, Dunwich and Southwold, be the Western Division. And that A. E. S. K. Barclay of Wallacetown be the Inspector for the Western Division and it shall be his duty to visit the principal places in his division .once in each year with the stamps and standards weights and measures in his possession during the months of August and September viz Fingal, Iona, Wallacetown. Tyrconnell, New Glasgow, Lorn and Rodney. AND IT IS ALSO enacted that the East Riding of the county, comprising the Townships of Bayham, South Dorchester Malahide, Yarmouth. under jurisdiction of the county and the Villages of Aylmer and Vienna and Port Burwell. And that Henry Martin be the Inspector for the Eastern Division and it shall be.iliis duty to visit Port Stanley, Sparta, ~ort Burwell, Straffordville, Orwell, Port Bruce, Mapletown, Vienna, Springfield, Lyons, Avon, Eden. Richamond, Salem and Belmont, the principal places in such division, once in each year during the months of June and July. And that the Inspector for the Eastern Division shall be the Senior Inspector ( C ont . d) By-Law No. 239 Page 2 AND IT SHALL BE the duty of the Inspectors when they shall have completed their tour of inspection to re- turn the weights and measures to the order of the County Clerk at St. Thomas. AND IT IS enacted the By-Law number one hundred and forty-six be and the same is hereby repealed. AND IT IS ALSO enacted that this By-Law shall be in force and take effect from and after tie sixth day of June, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-three.
