257 COUNTY OF ELGIN By-Law No. 257 TO EQUALIZE TtiE ASSESSMENT ROLLS OF THE SEVERAL MU~ICIPALITIÆS IN THE COUNTY OF ELGIN FOR THE YEAR A.J2-,-_lªZ!t" . WHEREAS by the Seventy-first section of the Assessment Act 32 Victoria chª,pter 36 County Councils are required to examine the Assessment Rolls of the different towns, villages and townships in the County for the preceding financial year for the purpose of ascertaining whether the valuation made by the Assessors bears a past relation so made in all such townships to the valuation so made for the purposes of County rates and may increase or decrease the aggregate valuation of real and personal property but not reduce the aggregate valuation thereof for the whole county as made by the Assessors. BE IT THEREFORE enacted by the County Council of the Corporation of the County of Elgin under and by virtue of the authority aforesaid.
