287 COUNTY OF ELGIN By-Law No. 287 TO CONFIRM BY-LAW NUMBER 233 OF THE TOWNSHIP OF SOUTHWOLD TO CONVEY CERTAIN ROAD ALLOWANCES TO ALEXANDER MCINTYRE AND WILLIAM PIPER". BE IT enacted by the Municipal Council of the Corporation of the County of Elgin that By-law Number 233 of the Township of Southwold be and the same is hereby con- firmed. McKay Clerk Note: Attached is a copy of Township of Southwold By-Law No 233 (Cont'd) 2 Page 287 By-Law No TOWNSHIP OF SOUTHWOLD 233 By-Law No TO AUTHORIZE THE CONVEYANCE OF CERTAIN ROAD ALLOWANCES IN THE TOWNSHIP OF SOUTHWOLD TO ALEXANDER MCINTYRE AND " WILLIAM PIPER 1876 WHEREAS the old road allowances opposite lot number two south of the north branch, also the old road allowance near lot number one south of the north branch of the Talbot Road in the Township of Southwold and near cer- tain lands belonging to Alexander McIntyre and William Piper and having been condemned by John D. Baikie, Esquire Provincial Land Surveyor as being useless to the public according to a report made by him. Passed 3rd April AND WHEREAS by the 441st section Victoria chapter 48 sub-section 2 of the Municipal Institutions Act, the Council of any Municipality are authorized to sell and convey or- iginal road allowances which is of the opinion of said Council useless to the public. AND WHEREAS the requisite notices having been of the intention to pass this By-law given AND WHEREAS Alexander McIntyre and William Piper being the owners of the lands near the said original road allowances, the Council of the Township of Southwold deems it expedient to authorize the conveyance of said original road allowances to the said Alexander McIntyre and William Piper in lieu of lands taken from the said lots BE IT THEREFORE enacted by the Corporation of the Township of Southwold by virtue and under the authority aforesaid, that the old road allowance opposite lot number two south north branch Talbot Road be conveyed to Alexander McIntyre, also the road allowance near lot number one south of the north branch Talbot Road, Southwold be conveyed to William Piper, the owners of the land adjoining in lieu of lands taken from them. And that the reeve of the said Town- ship execute a conveyance in behalf of the Council for said roads in the Township of Southwold to said Alexander McIntyre and William Piper their heirs and assigns and attach the seal of the Corporation hereto. AND IT IS FURTHER enacted that this By-law shall take effect from and after the third day of April in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Seventy Six. ) (Cont'd Page 3 D.
