COUNTY OF ELGIN
By-Law No. 292
TO APPOINT TRUSTEES AND MAKE APPROPRIATIONS FOR THE SUP-
PORT OF HIGH SCHOOLS IN THE COUNTY OF ELGIN FOR THE YEAR
1877 AND TO AMEND BY-LAW NUMBER 259."
Passed January 1877
WHEREAS it is enacted under the 52nd Section of
the High Schools Act of 1874 that every County Council shall
appoint three fit and proper persons to be Trustees of each
High School in a Town and separated from the County for
Municipal purposes or in an Incorporated Village.
BE IT TrŒREFORE enacted by the County Council
of the County of Elgin under the authority aforesaid -
That the Reverend Mr. Shultre be appointed Trustee
of the Vienna High School for the term of three years.
That David F. Davis be appointed Trustee of the
Aylmer High School for the term of three years.
AND IT IS ALSO enacted under authority of said
Act
That the following sums be granted to the High
Schools in the County for the present year namely -
To the Vienna High School - Seven Hundred Dollars
To the Aylmer High School - One Thousand Dollars
To the St. Thomas High School - One Thousand Dollars
provided that County pupils are admitted to said St. Thomas
High School free of charge.
AND IT IS ALSO enacted that the clause in By-Law
Number 259 establishing the Wallacetown High School District
be repealed and that By-Law 259 be amended accordingly.
