296 COUNTY OF ELGIN By-Law No. 296 "TO CONFIRM BY-LAW NUMBER 242 OF THE MUNICIPAL CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF SOUTHWOLD RESPECTING THE ALTERATION OF A CERTAIN HIGHWAY." Passed 21 June 1877. WHEREAS it is recited under subsection two of Section Number 441 of the Municipal Institutions Act of 1873, that no By-Law for selling or stopping any original allowance for road shall have any force unless confirmed by a By-Law of the Council of the County in which the Township is situate passed at an ordinary session of the County Council in which the Township is situate and held not sooner than three months nor later than one year next after the passing thereof. BE IT THEREFORE enacted by the Corporation of the County of Elgin in Council assembled that By-Law Number 242 of the Township of Southwold passed on the Ninth day of February A. D. 1877 to alter and divert a certain portion of the public highway or. allowance for road called and known as the Routh Road\in the Township of Southwold in the County of Elgin and to stop up and sell unto the Great Western Railway Company a certain portion of the said public highway or ~llowance for road called and known as the Routh Road and to open up a cer- tain portion of lot number four of the said Routh Estate to be used as a public highway in lieu and as a diversion of such portion of the said Routh Road so proposed to be stopped up and sold and that said By-Law Number 242 of Southwold be and is hereby confirmed. AND IT IS ENACTED that this By-Law shall be in force from and after the passing thereof.
