WHEREAS By-Laws numbers 272 & 273 have been
passed by the Municipal Council of the Corporation of
the Township of Dunwich to dispose of certain road
allowances therein mentioned:
BE IT THEREFORE enacted by the Corporation of the
County of Elgin.
THAT By-Laws numbers 272 & 273 of the
Corporation of the Township of Dunwich be and the
same is hereby confirmed.

A By-Law for the stopping up and sale of that part
of the original allowance for side road between lots
numbers eighteen and nineteen in the eleventh and twelfth
concessions, lying to the south of the Talbot Road in the
Township of Dunwich.

AND ALSO of that part of the original allowance
for road between the eleventh and twelfth concessions of
the said Township of Dunwich opposite lots numbers
seventeen and eighteen and the east half of lot number
sixteen in the said eleventh and twelfth concessions
in the said Township of Dunwich.
WHEREAS application has been made to the Municipal
Council of the Corporation of the Township of Dunwich, for
the passing of a By-Law for the closing up and sale of that
part of the original allowance for side road between
lots numbers eighteen and nineteen in the eleventh and
twelfth concessions of the said Township of Dunwich,
lying to the south of the Talbot Road.
AND THAT part of the original allowance for
road between the eleventh and twelfth concessions
opposite lots numbers seventeen and eighteen and the east
half of lot sixteen in the eleventh and twelfth concessions
of the said Township of Dunwich
AND WHEREAS the same are useless to the public
and it is desirable that the same should be closed up
and sold.
AND WHEREAS due notice has been given by the Clerk
of the Corporation of the said Township of Dunwich of
the application for the said By-Law in accordance with
the first and second subsections of the five hundred
and sixty section of chapter one hundred and seventy-four
of the Revised Statutes of the Province of Ontario.
AND WHEREAS Anne Gilbert Macbeth, of the City of
London in the Province of Ontario, widow,. and Verschoyle
Cronyn and William P.R. Street both of the said City
of London, Esquires, the Trustees under the will of
George Macbeth, Esquire, Deceased, are the owners as such
Trustees of the lands adjoining the said original 0
allowances for road on both sides and have applied t~ the
said Council to become the purchasers of the said original
allowance for road.

AND WHEREAS no person will be prevented from having
access to his lands or residence by the closing of the
said original allowance
AND WHEREAS the said Council has passed a Ey-Law for
the opening of a new public road between lots numbers
twenty and twenty-one in the said eleyenth concession, north
of the Talbot Road through land belonging to the said
Anne Gilbert Macbeth, Verschoyle Cronyn and William P.R.
Street as such Trustees as aforesaid. Which said By-Law
is however not to come into force until this present
By-Law has been confirmed by the Municipal Council of
the Corporation of the said County of Elgin
AND WHEREAS the said Council of the Corporation
of the Township of Dunwich have for the considerations
in this By-Law appearing determined to close up the said
original allowances and to sell the same to the said
Anne Gilbert Macbeth, Verschoyle Cronyn and William P.R
Street as such Trustees as aforesaid
AND WHEREAS it has been agreed between the
Anne Gilbert Macbeth, Verschoyle Cronyn and William
Street and the said Council of the Corporation, the
Township of Dunwich that as soon as this present By-Law
shall have been confirmed by the said County Council the
Corporation of the said Township of Dunwich and the Council
thereof, shall convey to the said Arme Gilbert Macbeth,
Verschoyle Cronyn and William P.R. Street and their heirs
as such Trustees the said original allowances for road
and that the said Trustees shall as the equivalent and
price of the said allowances for road pay to the said
Council the sum of three hundred dollars and convey to
them for a public road the land required for that
purpose between lots numbers twenty and twenty-one
the said eleventh concessipn lying north of Talbot
and described in the said By-Law.

BE IT THEREFORE enacted by the Municipal Council
of the Corporation of the Township of Dunwich, that the
said original allowances for road in the preamble hereto
described, shall from henceforth cease to be public
highways, and shall be, and the same are hereby forever
closed.
AND BE IT FURTHER enacted by the said Municipal
Council of the Copporation of the Township of Dunwich

that the said original allowances for road so
closed as aforesaid, shall be and the same are hereby
sold to the said Anne Gilbert_Macbet~,Verschoyle Cronyn
and William P.R. Street, as Trustees as aforesaid.
AND THAT so soon after the confirmation of
this By-Law by the said County Council as the said
Anne Gilbert Macbeth, Verschoyle Cronyn and William
P.R. Street, shall payor cause to be paid to the
said Corponation of the Township of Dunwich the said sum
of three hundred dollars and shall have conveyed or
caused to be conveyed to the said the Corporation of the
Township of Dunwich the said land required for the said
road b~tween lots numbers twenty and twenty-one in
the eleventh concession described in the said By-Law, the
said the Corporation of the Township of Dunwich and the
Council thereof, shall at the request and expense of the
said Anne Gilbert Macbeth, Verschoyle Cronyn and William
P.R. Street, their heirs or·assigns by a proper and
su~ficient conveyance convey the said 9riginal
allowances to the said Anne Gilbert Macbeth, Verschoyle
Cronyn and William P;R~ Street, th~ir heirs and assigns
forever as such Trustees. And the Reeve of the said
Corporation whereby authorized to affix the Corporate
Seal of the said Corporation to such conveyance.
Passed in open Council this nineteenth day of
January in the year of Our Lord. One Thousand, Eight-
Hundred and Eighty.

that part of the said original allowance lying opposite
the said lot number fifteen.
AND WHEREAS the said Dugald Campbell and Anthony
Crane have made application to the said Council to become
the purchasers of the portions of the said original
allowance for road adjoiniªg their respective lands
AND WHEREAS no person will be prevented from
having access to his lands or residence by the closing
of the said allowance

AND WHEREAS the said Council has passed a By-Law
for the opening of a new public road between0 lots
numbers fifteen and sixteen in the eleventh concession
of the said Township of Dunwich, through lands owned by
the said Dugald Campbell and Anthony Crane which said
By-Law is not to come into force until this present
By-Law has beeR confirmed by the Municipal Council
of the Corporation of the Countyc·~f Elgin
AND WHEREAS the said Council of the Corporation
of the Township of Dunwich have for the considerations
in this By-Law appearing determined to close up the said
original allowance and to sell the same to the said .
Dugald Campbell and Anthony Crane in accordance with thßir
respective applications aforesaid.
AND WHEREAS it has been agreed between the said
Dugald Campbell and Anthony Crane and the said Council
of the Corporation of the Township of Dunwich that
so soon as this present By-Law shall have been confirmed
by the said County Council the said Dugald Campbell and
Anthony Crane respectively shall convey to the Corporation
of the said Township of Dunwich the portion of the said
new road which passes through their respective lands and
that in consideration thereof and as the equivalent and
price thereof the said the Corporation of the said Township
of Dunwich and the Council thereof, shall convey to the
said Dugald Campbell and his heirs the portion of the said
original allowance lying opposite the said west half of
lot number sixteen and to the said Anthony Crane and his
heirs the portion thereof lying opposite to the said
lot number fifteen and shall in addition pay to the
said Anthony Crane the sum of four hundred dollars.
BE IT THEREFORE enacted by the Municipal Council of
the Corporation of the Township of Dunwich that the said
allowance for road fun the preamble hereto described shall
from henceforth cease to be a public highway and shall be.
and the same is hereby forever closed
AND BE IT FURTHER enacted by the said the
Municipal Council of the Corporation of the Township
of Dunwich, that the portion of the said original allowance
for road so closed as aforesaid lying opposite the said
west half of lot number sixteen shall be and the same is

hereby sold to the said Dugald Campbell and that
portion of the said original allowance for road. so
closed up as aforesaid, lying opposite the saidtrot.number

said Anthony Crane
AND THAT so soon after the confirmation of
this By-Law by the said County Council as the said
Dugald Campbell and Anthony Crane, respectively shall
request the same and s~ have conveyed to the said
Corporation of the TownShip of Dunwich the said land
required for t~e said road between lots numbers, fifteen
and sixteen in the eleventh concession described in the
said By-Law, the said the Corporation of the Township of
Dunwiq~and the Council thereof, shall at the request
and expense of the said Dugald Campbell and Anthony Crane
respectively convey to them and their heirs the respective
portions of the said original allowance so sold to them
as aforesaid. And the Reeve of the said Corporation is
hereby authorized to affix the Corporate Seal of the said
Corporation to such conveyance
Passed in open Council this nineteenth day of
