"TO APPOINT TRUSTEES OF HIGH SCHOOLS IN THE COUNTY OF ELGIN

Passed 29 January 1880
WHEREAS IT IS enacted under the fifty-second
section of the High School Act of 1874, that every County
Council shall appoint three fit and proper persons
to be Trgstees of each High School in a town not
separated from the County for Municipal purposes, or an
Incorporated Village who shall hold office for the term
of three years.
BE IT THEREFORE enacted by the County Council
of the Corporation of the County of Elgin and under the
authority aforesaid.
THAT U.G. Burwell, be and is hereby appointed
Trustee of the Vienna High School for the term of three
years and the Rev'd J.W. Wye in place of Mr. Youell who
has left the limits.
THAT John McCausland be and is hereby appointed
Trustee of the Aylmer High School, for the term of
three years.
AND IT IS ALSO enacted under the authority of
said Act:
THAT the following sums be granted to the High
Schools in the County for the present year.
TO the Vienna High School the sum of six hundred
and fifty dollars.
TO the Aylmer High School the sum of eight
hundred and seventy-five dollars.
AND to the St. Thomas High School the sum of
fifteen hundred dollars.
PROVIDED that County pupils are admitted to the
St. Thomas School as well as the other High Schools free
of charge.

AND IT IS ALSO enacted that the sum of one
hundred dollars be granted towards the Model School inst
on condition that County pupils are admitted to said
Model School free.
AND IT IS ALSO enacted that a grant of one
hundred dollars be granted to Mr. Butler for travelling
expenses, postages and stationery.
