331 COUNTY OF ELGIN By-Law No. 331 ':!O APPOINT COUNTY AUDITORS IN THE COUNTY OF ELGIN FOR THE YEAR 1880". Passed 29 January 1880. WHEREAS under the Municipal Institutions Act chapter 174 section 254, each Municipal Council is required to appoint at the first meeting thereof, in every County after being duly organized two Auditors one of whom shall be such person as the Head of the Council nominates, to audit, examine and report upon all accounts affecting the Corporation or relating to any matter under its control or within its jurisdiction for the year ending on the 31st day Dècember preceding their appointment. AND IT IS enacted under the authority aforesaid that John P. Martyn, the nominee of the Warden and George Scarff are hereby appointed County Auditors of the County accounts of the County Treasurer and also- THAT it shall be the duty of said Auditors to audit all accounts as required by Statute or order in Council during the year one thousand, eight hundred and eighty. AND ALSO all school accounts and other accòunts of monies received or paid by the County Treasurer. AND that remuneration of such Auditors shall be twenty dollars each for their services.
