Passed 29 January 1880 WHEREAS By-Law number 328 heretofore passed for the erection of a bridge at the Village of Port Stanley, enacted that a bridge with an iron super structure should be erected with wooden abutments. '. AND WHEREAS in consequence of the great advance in the price of iron it is deemed expedient to construct the bridge of wood, with a wooden super structu:be. IT IS THEREFORE enacted by the Corporation of the County of Elgin in County Council assembled that a bridge be erected across Kettle Creek in the Village of Port Stanley of wood with wooden super structures and abutments, according to the plans and specifications prepared by Alfred Ware, the County Engineer. The bridge to be erected on the Howe Truss plan and to be eighteen feet in width. AND ALSO that a Committee consisting of Messrs. Twinor, Lyons, McLanad, Best, Miller and Bensly are hereby appointed to receive offers and make contracts therewith AND IT IS ALSO enacted that the County Treasurer is hereby authorized to pay for said bridge or works connected therewith on certificate of the Engineer countersigned by the Chairman of the Committee and Warden öf the County.
