341 COUNTY OF ELGIN By-Law No. 341 "TO APPOINT COUNTY AUDITORS FOR THE YEAR 1881." Passed 28 January 1881. WHEREAS under the Municipal Institutions Act Section 254 each Municipal Council is required to appoint at ths first meeting thereof in every county after being duly organized, two Auditors, one of whom shall be such person as the head of the Council nominates to audit and examine and report upon all accounts affecting the Corp- oration or relating to any matters under its::control or within its jurisdiction for the year ending on the 31st day of December preceding their appointment. AND IT IS enacted under the authority aforesaid, that Donald K. McKenzie, the nominee of the Warden and John P. Martyn are hereby appointed County Audito~s of the county accounts of the County Treasurer. AND IT SHALL BE the duty of said Auditors to audit all accounts as required by statute or order in Council dur- ing the year 1881. AND ALSO all school accounts and other accounts of monies received or paid by the County Treasurer and that the statement be made in detail with dates attached to receipts and payments and that the Auditors receive the sum of twenty dollars each for their services.
