357 COUNTY OF ELGIN By-Law No. 357 TO APPOIWL.TRUSTEES OF HIGH SCHOOLS If{ THE COUNTY OF ELGIN AND MAKE APPROPRIATIONS FOR SAID HIGH SCHOOLS AND MODEL SCHOOLS FOR THE COUNTY OF ELGIN FOR THE YEAR OF OUR LORD ONE THOUSAND EIGJj:lHUNDJ~ED AND EIGHTY TWO". Passed 27th January 1882. WHEREAS it is enacted in sections 52 & 66 of the High School Act of 1874 and amending Acts - That every County Council shall appoint three fit and proper persons to be Trustees of each High School and to make appropriations for maintenance of High Schools. And also section number 11 of the School Act of 1881 it is enacted that County Councils shall grant aid to County Model Schools. BE IT THEREFORE enacted by the County Council of the County of Elgin under the authority aforesaid - That William Watts b~ and is hereby appointed Trust- ee of the Vienna High School for the term of three years. That Samuel Clutton be and is hereby appointed Trust- ee of the Aylmer High School for the term of three years. AND IT IS ALSO enacted under the authority aforesaid- That the following sums be granted to the High Schools in the County for the present year:- To the Vienna High School the sum of Eight Hundred Dollars. To the Aylmer High School the sum of Nine Hundred Dollars. And to the St. Thomas High School the sum of Seven- teen Hundred Dollars. Provided that County pupils are admitted to said schools free of charge. AND IT IS FURTHER enacted that the sum of One Hund- red Dollars be granted towards the maintenance of the Model School in St. Thomas on condition that County pupils are admit- ted to said school free of charge.
