384 COUNTY OF ELGIN By-Law No. 384 "TO APPOINT COUNTY AUDITQRS FOR THE YEAR 1884 Passed 24th January 1884 WHEREAS under the authority of Section Number 260 of the Consolidated Municipal Act of 1883, every Council shall at the first meeting thereof in every year after be- ing dully organized, appoint two Auditors one of whom shall be such person as the head of the Council nominates. BE IT THEREFORE enacted by the Council of the Mun- icipal Corporation of the County of Elgin under the author- ity aforesaid. That Thomas M. Nairn, the nominee of the Warden and Donald McNish be and are hereby appointed Auditors of the accounts of the County Treasurer. AND IT shall be the duty of said Auditors to ex- amine and report upon all accounts',asI'E!qúiÍ:I'èdhby.:Statùte<or order in Council. And also all accounts of school monies and other accounts of monies received or paid by the County Treasurer for the year ending on the thirty-first day of December 1883. AND IT IS further enacted that the Auditors State- ments be made out in detail with dates attached to the re- ceipts and payments.
