418 COUNTY OF ELGIN By-Law No. 418 "TO APPOINT A BOARD OF EXAMINERS FOR THE PURPOSE OF GRANTING THIRD CLASS CERTIFICATES OF QUALIFICATION TO CANDIDATES AS TEACHERS OF PUBLIC SE:HOOLS." Passed 20th November 1885. WHEREAS by Section No. 169 of Chapter 49 of 48th Victoria, (The Consolidated Public Schools Act) IT IS enacted "That the County Counc}i of each county shall appoint a Board of Examiners consisting of the inspector or inspectors having jurisdiction within theêcounty or any part thereof and not more than two other competent persons whose qualifications shall be perscribed from time to time by the Education Department." THE Municipal Council of the Corporation of the County of Elgin therefore enacts I THAT W. Atkins, County Inspector, W.A. Ruthford, B.A. Rrincipal, Aylmer High School and Samuel McColl, Esq. of Dunwich be and are hereby appointed a Board of Examiners to perform such duties as may be required of them by the Consolidated Public Schools Act of 1885. II THAT they be paid the sum of $4 per day and 5 cents per mile each way. III THAT all By-Laws heretofore passed in this behalf be and are hereby repealed.
