422 COUNTY OF ELGIN By-Law No. 422 "TO APPOINT A BOARD OF AUDIT IN THE COUNTY OF ELGIN FOR THE YEAR 1886". Passed 29th January 1886. WHEREAS under Section 7 of Chapter eighty-five of the Revised Statutes of Ontario, every County Council is re- quired to appoint annually at its first meeting in every year a Board of Audit composed of the Judge of the County Court and two other persons not more than one of whom being a member for the time being of such County Council. BE IT THEREFORE enacted by the Municipal Corporation of the County of Elgin in County Council assembled and under the authority aforesaid. That D. J. Hughes, Esquire County Judge, S.S. Clutton Esquire and David McLaws, Esquire be and are hereby appointed a Board of Audit for such accounts and demands as shall be delivered on the first day of the sitting of the Court of General Sessions of the Peace or of Oyer & Terminer and general gaol delivery during the year 1886. AND BE IT enacted that the persons appointed to serve on the said Boards of Audit be paid the sum of four dollars per day for their services and attendance at such audit and five cents per mile in going to and from such audit (43 Victoria Chapter 24, Section 16).
