435 COUNTY OF ELGIN By-Law No. 435 TO APPOINT COUNTY AUDITORS FOR THE YEAR 1887" Passed 29th January 1887 WHEREAS under the authority of the Consolidated Municipal Act of 1883 every Municipal Council is required to appoint at its first meeting in every year two Auditors, one of whom shall be such person as the head of the Council nominates. BE IT THEREFORE enacted by the Council of the Municipal Corporation of the County of Elgin under the authority aforesaid - That T. W. Kirkpatrick, the nominee of the War- den and Andrew Murray be and are hereby appointed Auditors to examine and report upon all accounts affecting the Cor- poration of the County of Elgin or relating to any matter under its control or within its jurisdiction as required by Statute or order in Council and also all accounts of school monies received or paid by the County Treasurer ~or the year ending on the 31st day of December A. D. 1886. AND IT IS further enacted that the Auditors statements be made out in detail with dates attached to the receipts and payments and that the said Auditors re- ceive the sum of forty dollars each for their services, Council Chamber St. Thomas 29 January 1887 J.
