By-Law No. 487
"TO APPOINT COUNTY AUDITORêJ:QR THE YEAR 1822'
Passed 29th January 1892
WHEREAS under the authority of the Municipal
Act every Municipal Council is required to appoint
at its first meeting in every year two ~uditors, one
of whom shall be such person as the Head of the
Council nominates.
BE IT THEREFORE enacted by the Council of the
Municipal Corporation of the County of Elgin under the
authority aforesaid. .
That D.J. Ferguson, the nominee of the Warden
and John F. Taylor be and are hereby appointed Auditors
to examine and report upon all accounts affecting the
Corporation of the County of Elgin or relating to any
matter under its control or within its jurisdiction
as requirëd by Statute, or order in Council and also all
accounts of school monies received or paid by the
County Treasurer for the year ending 31st December 1891,
and that said Auditors be paid the sum of forty dollars
each for their services.
